New Delhi, March 27: In the run up to Lok Sabha Elections 2019, the Congress on Tuesday declared three more Lok Sabha candidates from Gujarat and Uttar Pradesh. According to reports, Naresh N. Maheshwari will be the party candidate from Gujarat's Kutch and Dharmesh Bhimbhai Patel from Navsari, while Sanjay Kapoor has been fielded from Rampur in Uttar Pradesh.
Meanwhile, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday kept out Murli Manohar Joshi from the list of candidates and instead fielded Uttar Pradesh Minister Satyadev Pachauri from Kanpur won by him in 2014. On Wednesday, a Twitter India survey revealed that over 90 per cent of first-time eligible voters are expected to vote in the upcoming elections. According to the Election Commission, nearly 1.5 crore first-time voters will exercise their franchise in the seven-phase election starting April 11.
