EC Informs Polling Briefings for First Phase in 91 out of 543 Lok Sabha Constituencies. It stated that polling will be held in 91 out of 543 Lok Sabha constituencies spread over 20 states & UTs in the first phase on 11th April.EC also said that the voting time in most of the Parliamentary Constituencies going to polls in the first phase on 11th April is between 7am-6pm. However in left wing extremism (LWE) affected areas and NE States the timings vary from 7am-5pm/ 7am-4pm / 7am-3pm.

New Delhi, April 9: Hours after top BJP leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, unveiled the party's 'Sankalp Patra' for the Lok Sabha polls,  BJP President Amit Shah on Monday met party veterans L.K. Advani and Murli Manohar Joshi. Reports inform that Shah drove to the residences of Advani and Joshi, who have been virtually sidelined in the party and were reportedly upset with the way they were denied party tickets from the constituencies they represented.

According to CVOTER-IANS survey, around half of the voters surveyed continue to be very satisfied with the performance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The poll tracker interviewed 12,050 voters on April 4 and found that 50.95 per cent of them said they were very satisfied with the performance of the Prime Minister while another 22.49 per cent said they were satisfied to some extent. There were 25.29 per cent voters who said they were not happy with him at all.

On Monday, Congress announced cricketer-turned-politician Kirti Azad as it candidate from Jharkhand's Dhanbad Lok Sabha seat. The party also fielded Kalicharan Munda from Khunti in the state. Azad, who represents Darbhanga in Bihar in the outgoing Lok Sabha, had joined the Congress in February.
