Yogi Adityanath slammed Samajwadi Party (SP) Azam Khan for his controversial remark on BJP candidate from Rampur Jaya Prada. The Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister said, "This shows the thinking & culture of Samajwadi Party. The silence of SP chief & his ally Mayawati, who is also a woman, is surprising. This is very unfortunate...Azam Khan's statement is extremely disrespectful, shows his cheap mindset."

Jaya Prada slammed Samajwadi Party leader Azam Khan for his controversial comments. Prada said, "He shouldn't be allowed to contest elections. Because if this man wins, what will happen to democracy? There'll be no place for women in society. Where will we go? Should I die, then you'll be satisfied? You think that I'll get scared & leave Rampur? But I won't leave."

A case has been registered against Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA Manda Mhatre from Belapur, Navi Mumbai, for violating the model code of conduct, for allegedly asking voters at a programme to vote twice in Lok Sabha Elections 2019.


On Sunday, Samajwadi Party (SP) veteran Azam Khan took a derogatory jibe at former party member-turned-BJP leader Jaya Prada. Khan's remarks were aimed at levelling the "communal" tag on the actor-politician. Khan and Prada are contesting against each other from the Rampur parliamentary constituency. The seat was represented by the yesteryear actor for 10 years on SP ticket, before being dethroned by BJP's Nepal Singh in 2014.

Former Jammu & Kashmir chief ministers Omar Abdullah and Mehbooba Mufti launched a stinging counter after Prime Minister Narendra Modi levelled "anti-India" charge against the "two dynasties". Both of them tweeted old photos of the Prime Minister, apart from issuing a pointed-rebuttal on social media. The two leaders asked the PM why the BJP has formed coalitions with both - the National Conference (NC) and the People's Democratic Party (PDP) - to form governments in the state in the past.

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAM) has not given up on alliance with the Congress party for the Lok Sabha Elections 2019, said Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal. AAP chief and Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal reportedly said that his party's aim is to defeat the duo of Narendra Modi and Amit Shah, and for that his party is still hopeful for the alliance with the Congress party.
