New Delhi, May 2: On Wednesday, the Election Commission (EC) slapped Congress president Rahul Gandhi with a notice for alleged violation of the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) and sought a reply within 48 hours. As per the information, the notice was issued over his comments on Prime Minister Narendra Modi during a rally in Madhya Pradesh’s Shahdol, where he allegedly said, “Narendra Modi has made a new law in which there is a line that says tribals can be shot at.”
In another development, BJP candidate from Bhopal Lok Sabha seat Pragya Singh Thakur has been barred by the apex poll conducting body from campaigning for three days for violating Model Code of Conduct (MCC).
