The results of Lok Sabha Elections 2019 were declared on Thursday. The counting of votes began at 8 am May 23 across the 542 Parliamentary constituencies in India. The final results of the General Elections 2019 are likely to be out by the end of the day. The BJP won 303 seats on its own. Most of the exit polls had predicted a clear victory for the BJP this election, indicating that there would be an NDA government at the Centre. The India Today-Axis My India exit poll predicted that the BJP-led NDA will win 339-368 seats.  The CNN-News18-IPSOS exit poll predicted the NDA winning 336 seats. On the other hand, the NewsX-Neta exit poll said that the NDA may win 242 seats. Indications are that Narendra Modi is set to return as the Prime Minister of India. The BJP is confident of winning and have said that they will get more seats than the 2014 elections. The party also hosted a dinner meet for all its allies at the BJP headquarters in the national capital.

Some of the key BJP candidates to watch out for on the result day would be PM Modi, party chief Amit Shah, Home Minister Rajnath Singh, Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad, new entrants Sunny Deol and Gautam Gambhir among others.

In 2014, the BJP had won 282 seats. It remains to be seen how the party performs this election. Voting for the Lok Sabha elections 2019 took place across the country in seven phases between April 11 and May 19. The counting of votes is taking place on Thursday, May 23.
