New Delhi, April 2: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday released the eighth list of three candidates for the Lok Sabha elections 2019. The party announced two candidates for Gujarat and one for Kerala. In Gujarat, the BJP had fielded Sharda Ben Patel from Mehsana and Darshana Jardosh from Surat. Meanwhile, from Thrissur, the saffron party has given a ticket Suresh Gopi. Till now, the party has announced 309 candidates for the upcoming general elections. In the first list, the party announced 184 names. In these elections also, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is contesting from Varanasi and BJP president Amit Shah from Gandhinagar. Meanwhile, Union Ministers Rajnath Singh and Nitin Gadkari have been fielded again from Lucknow and Nagpur, respectively. In Mumbai North, the BJP has reposed faith in the incumbent MP Poonam Mahajan; from Ernakulam - Union Minister K Alphons has been nominated. On March 10, the Election Commission of India announced dates for the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. The elections will take place in seven phases, and the results will be declared on May 23. The polls will be held in 1,035,918 polling stations across the country compared to 928,000 set up during the last Lok Sabha election in 2014.
