The early trends of the results are expected to emerge by 8:30 am. After completion of the counting, the ECI will declare the final results later in the day. Along with the Lok Sabha polls, Assembly elections for Andhra Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Odisha and Sikkim were also held simultaneously. The Election Commission had declared March 26, 2019, as the last date of filing on nomination from the seat. The last date for withdrawal of candidature was March 29, 2019. Meanwhile, complaints of alleged movement of EVM have been doing the rounds ahead of counting. However, ECI stated them as "absolutely false, and factually incorrect". The elections have also been marred with controversies with CCTV footage showing bogus voting. Following the incident, certain constituencies witnessed re-polling.

According to exit polls, the BJP-led NDA may return to power again. While the Congress-led UPA may not manage to make the majority in the Lok Sabha elections. The exit polls also predicted that "others" will gain a significant chunk of seats ranging from 94 to 138. As per 12 of 14 exit polls, NDA is set to a full majority with seats between 282 to 365. To form the government in Lok Sabha elections, any state or alliance requires 271 seats.
