Results of the parliamentary constituency of Lohardaga has been declared. The seat has been won with a narrow margin by Sudarshan Bhagat of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). For the Lok Sabha Elections 2019, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has fielded Sudarshan Bhagat, who is the current MP of the Lohardaga Parliamentary constituency. Sukhdeo Bhagat is the Congress candidate. The constituency is spread over a portion of the Ranchi district and the entire districts of Gumla and Lohardaga. Jharkhand will go polls in four phases on April 29, May 6, 12 and 19. As per the dates announced, voting in the 14 parliamentary constituencies of Jharkhand will be held in the 4th phase, 5th phase, 6th phase and 7th phases of the general elections. 3 seats will be contested on April 29; 4 constituencies on May 6; 4 Lok Sabha segments on May 12; and 3 seats on May 19. The results will be declared on May 23.
Of the 14 Jharkhand Lok Sabha constituencies, three – Chatra, Loherdaga and Palamu – will vote on April 29, the first phase of elections in the state. Still, the much-coveted, Chatra is sticking out like a sore thumb for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). The state unit of the party has failed to recommend a “winning candidate” for the seat.
In the 2014 Lok Sabha Elections, Sudarshan Bhagat of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) had won the seat by defeating Rameshwar Oraon of the Congress party. Bhagat had won the seat by 226,666 votes.
