Mumbai, May 10: Two earthquakes of magnitude 5.6 and 6.3 on the Richter Scale hit off the coast of southern Japan on Friday, the United States Geological Survey (USGS) informed. According to reports, the first quake of magnitude 5.6 took place at 10:43 pm (UTC) or 7:43 am (JST) and hit a depth of 35 km, the USGS said. In India, the Delhi Metro train services will begin early on May 12, the polling day for the sixth phase of Lok Sabha polls 2019. The metro services will start from 4 am, two hours earlier than regular timing so that the staff deployed for election duty can avail the facility for travelling, officials said May 9. DMRC train services otherwise begin at 6 am.

Meanwhile, BJP East Delhi candidate, Gautam Gambhir took a dig at the AAP goverment over AAP candidate Atishi's remarks and said, "I am from a family where I have been taught to respect women. I didn't know CM Arvind Kejriwal would stoop so low. I have filed a defamation case".

On Friday, the Supreme Court will hear the Ayodhya case. The top Court will also hear contempt plea against Rahul Gandhi for attributing 'Chowkidar chor hai' jibe to the court. Also, the Court will resume hearing of petitions seeking review of the court's earlier verdict in the Rafale deal.
