Mumbai, June 4: The counting of votes for the India General Elections 2024 is underway. Elections for the 543-member Lok Sabha began on April 19 and concluded on June 4 after being conducted over seven phases. According to the latest trends at 12.30 pm, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is leading in 239 seats, while the Congress party is ahead in 94 seats. On the other hand, the Samajwadi Party (SP) is leading on 35 seats, All India Trinamool Congress (AITC) is leading on 30 seats, Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) on 21 seats and the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) on 16 seats.

Who All Are Part of NDA?
As per the election trends, the BJP-led NDA alliance seems to be failing to achieve its "400" par figure, which it set for itself in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) consists of several parties, with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) being the single largest party. In addition to the BJP, the NDA alliance includes parties such as the National People's Party (NPP), Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) Tipra Motha Party (TMP), Amma Makkal Munnettra Kazhagam (AMMK), Janata Dal (United), Shiv Sena led by Eknath Shinde, Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), All Jharkhand Students Union or AJSU party, Telugu Desam Party (TDP), Jana Sena Party (JSP), Ajit Pawar-led National Congress Party (NCP), Republican Party of India (Athawale), among others.
A few regional parties, such as Apna Dal (Sonelal), Rashtriya Lok Janshakti Party (RLJP), Sikkim Krantikari Morcha (SKM), Naga People's Front, etc, are also parts of the NDA alliance. According to the ECI trends, the grand old party is headed for its best show in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections after the 2014 general elections. In the 2019 India General Elections, the NDA's tally was 353, with the BJP bagging 303 seats itself. On the other hand, the Congress had managed to win only 52 Lok Sabha seats. Polling for the 543-member Lok Sabha elections was held across seven phases from April 19 to June 1, and the results will be declared today, June 4. The Narendra Modi-led NDA is seeking a third term, while the opposition alliance of the INDIA Bloc is aiming to wrest power by stopping the BJP's juggernaut.
