Mandalgarh, January 8: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Sunday released the names for the upcoming by-elections to the Parliamentary constituency and Legislative Assembly Constituency of Rajasthan and West Bengal. As per reports, Rajasthan Cabinet Minister from Alwar Jaswant Singh Yadav and party leader from Ajmer Ramswarup Lamba have been finalised as the candidates for the upcoming by-elections in the Parliamentary constituency. Meanwhile, Shakti Singh Hada from Kota will be the BJP's candidate for the Legislative Assembly constituency polls in Rajasthan’s Mandalgarh.

The Alwar, Ajmer and Uluberia seats fell vacant after sitting members Mahant Chandnath (BJP), Sanwar Lal Jat (BJP) and Sultan Ahmed (TMC) died recently. The bypolls to all the three seats will be held on January 29 while the counting will be held on February 1, 2018. This means, voters in Alwar and Ajmer in Rajasthan, and Uluberia in West Bengal, will vote on January 29 to elect their representatives to the Lok Sabha.

In addition, voting for the Assembly seats of Mandalgarh and Noapara in Rajasthan will also take place on the same day. Counting for all the three Parliamentary and two Assembly constituencies will be done on February 1, 2018, the Commission announced. A notification for the elections will be issued on January 3 and the last date for filing of nominations is January 10, 2018 The last date of filing nominations is January 10 and date for scrutiny is January 11. The last date of withdrawing candidatures is January 15.
