Lok Sabha Elections 2019: The results of Lakhimpur Lok Sabha Constituency has been declared. BJP candidate Pradan Baruah won and is elected as the Member of Parliament (MP) in the Lakhimpur constituency, bagging 3,46,460 votes, while Anil Borgohain from Indian National Congress (INC) trails in this year's general elections. The counting of votes on the Parliamentary seat in Assam began at 8:00 am on Thursday, May 23. Voting took place for the Lakhimpur seat in the first phase of Lok Sabha Elections 2019. 

Lakhimpur parliamentary constituency is said to be one of the most politically active and vibrant Lok Sabha constituencies in Assam. Situated in the Lakhimpur district, the Lakhimpur parliamentary constituency is part of the administrative district of the north-eastern state. The city of North Lakhimpur is not only the administrative seat, but also the municipal board in the Lakhimpur district. According to the Lok Sabha Elections 2019 schedule, voting will take place in the first phase of the General Elections. It shall be noted that the last date for filling nominations for the third phase of elections was March 25 and the scrutiny of nominations was scheduled on March 26, 2019. The Lok Sabha Elections 2014 was won by Sarbananda Sonowal, member of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). He bagged 6,12,543 votes in the previous elections against Indian National Congress (INC) member, Ranee Narah, who became the runner up securing 3,20,405 votes. Sarbananda Sonowal is also the current sitting member of parliament of the Lakhimpur constituency.

Lok Sabha Elections 2019 is slated to be held from April 11 to May 23. The voting for 2019 General Elections will take place in seven phases between April 11 to May 19, 2019. The final counting and declaration of the General Elections’ result is scheduled on May 23, 2019.
