Kiren Rijiju Undergoes Sinus Surgery at AIIMS, Likely to be Discharged Today

New Delhi, June 15: Minister of State For Home Affairs Kiren Rijiju underwent a minor surgery for sinusitis at the All India Institute of Medical Science (AIIMS) in New Delhi on Thursday.

This is the second time in the past 15 days that the minister was admitted to AIIMS. He had undergone a surgery for stone removal on May 30. Rijiju is likely to be discharged by Friday evening.

Meanwhile, former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee continues to be admitted to AIIMS. Bharat ratna Vajpayee, 93-year-old, was admitted to AIIMS on Monday evening after suffering urine infection. On Wednesday, the AIIMS administration said that the former prime minister was responding to treatment well and should be discharged when he is fine in the next few days.

Earlier last month, Union Minister Arun Jaitley also underwent a kidney transplant surgery at AIIMS. He was discharged a few days ago and is on recovery. Jaitley would be resuming work soon.
