Kerala Congress Leaders Fume Over Shashi Tharoor for Backing Jairam Ramesh’s Pro-Modi Remark

Thiruvananthapuram, August 27: After Congress MP Shashi Tharoor backed another Congress leader Jairam Ramesh's remarks praising Prime Minister Narendra Modi, troubles are mounting for him. The grand old party leader and Kerala MP, TN Prathapan, has written a letter to interim president Sonia Gandhi slamming Tharoor for his pro-Modi remarks, The News Minute reported. Tharoor had recently supported Jairam Ramesh's remark that "demonising the Prime Minister was wrong and he should be praised for the right things he does." Many Congress leaders, including Ramesh Chennithala and Ramesh Chennithala, have slammed Thiruvananthapuram MP for his statement, The News Minute reported. In a letter to Sonia Gandhi, Prathapan without naming Tharoor said, "I really don’t get what type of narrative these leaders want to put forward while the undemocratic and autocratic regime of Modi is strengthening."

He also added the Indian National Congress does not need to praise Prime Minister as it will weaken the party's stronghold. Targeting PM Modi, Prathapan said, "Narendra Modi is a complete dictator and his regime is suffocating to many Indians." He also added that PM Modi was just copying the schemes and plans of the earlier governments.
