Chennai, August 6: DMK Chief Karunanidhi continues to be at Kauvery hospital in Chennai. According to fresh reports on Monday, Karunanidhi was critical even as his health was improving over the past few days. According to a Times Now report, Karunanidhi's health condition seemed to be deteriorating again on Monday. He was admitted to the Kauvery hospital on July 28 after his health had deteriorated due to urinary tract infection.
On Sunday, President Ram Nath Kovind visited Chennai's Kauvery Hospital to inquire about the health condition of Karunanidhi. He wished Karunanidhi a speedy recovery. Among others, Tamil superstar Rajinikanth, Congress President Rahul Gandhi and Vice President Venkaiah Naidu, have visited the ailing DMK patriarch over the past few days.
Meanwhile, as the country prays for his well-being, 21 party cadres have reportedly died in shock and grief following Karunanidhi's hospitalisation. Last week, Karunanidhi's son and DMK Acting President MK Stalin mourned these deaths and urged the party members not to resort to activities that will lead to their death. He expressed his condolences to the families of the dead DMK members.
