Karnataka Political Turmoil: Rebel JD(S) MLA H Vishwanath Says Kumaraswamy Govt Failed to Take All Legislators Into Confidence

Rebel Janata Dal –Secular (JDS) MLA H Vishwanath refutes claims of resigning from the post under any influence. Vishwanath while interacting with reporters said that he and 13 other MLAs of the Congress-JDS alliance had resigned voluntarily.

Bengaluru, July 6: Rebel Janata Dal –Secular (JDS) MLA H Vishwanath who on Saturday resigned as JDS legislator refutes claims of quitting under the influence of any other party. Vishwanath during his interaction with the media said that he and 13 other MLAs of the Congress-JDS alliance had resigned voluntarily. HD Kumaraswamy's Karnataka Govt to Fall? 11 MLAs of Congress-JD(S) Camp Submit Resignation to Speaker.

Vishwanath while slamming the government said that the HD KUmaraswamy led Karnataka government did not take everyone into confidence in its functioning. He stated, “We have submitted resignation to the Karnataka Assembly Speaker. He assured us he will take a decision by Tuesday. This government did not take everyone into confidence in its functioning. That's why we've resigned voluntarily today.”

Till now, a total of 14 MLAs had resigned against the government. They met Governor Vajubhai Rudabhai Vala today and also wrote a letter to the speaker of the Karnataka Assembly. Out these 14 MLAs, 11 legislatures resigned on Saturday.

These 11 MLAs include Mahesh Kumathalli, B C Patil, Ramesh Jarkiholi, Shivaram Hebbar, H Vishwanath, Gopalaiah, Byrathi Basavaraj, Narayana Gowda, Munirathna, ST Somashekar and Pratap Gowda Patil.  Earlier on Monday, Vijayanagar MLA Anand Singh and Gokak legislator Ramesh Jarkiholi had already resigned.

Meanwhile, HK Kumaraswamy Karnataka JDS chief exuded confidence in resolving the crisis.He said, “They've put their resignations at office of Speaker, he'll take decision at an appropriate time. At present the government is safe, it's safe now. They will come back to us, no one will go.: Meanwhile, former Prime Minister HD Dewe Gowda refused to comment on the resignations of the MLAs.  Currently, state CM HD Kumaraswamy is in the USA and might reach Bengaluru on Monday.
