Karnataka Floor Test Live News Updates: Trust Vote Delayed Till Monday as Speaker Adjourns House
Governor Vajubhai Vala directed Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy to prove majority on Friday by 1:30 PM. In his letter to the Chief Minister, Vala said, "I require you to prove your majority on the floor of the House on or before 1:30 p.m. tomorrow (Friday)".
Speaker KR Ramesh Kumar adjourned the house and the impending trust vote for the HD Kumaraswamy government is now likely to take place on Monday. This means that Governor Vajubhai Vala's order to finish the trust vote business has gone unheard for a second day in a row.
BJP Karnataka President, BS Yeddyurappa says, "We respect you, Speaker sir. Governor's last letter said the vote should finish today. People on our side will sit peacefully till late in the night. Let it take however long it takes and it'll also mean that we can respect Governor's direction."
Karnataka Dy CM G Parameshwara says that "we've approached SC to contend 2 major issues: Parties have right to issue whips to their legislators and this can't be taken away by any court. When House is in session, Governor can't issue directions or deadlines to when we should have a trust vote."
Karnataka Speaker KR Ramesh Kumar says that, "I want to inform Supreme Court, people and the House that no MLA has given me letter seeking protection and I don't know if they've written to govt. If they have informed any member that they have stayed away from House for security reasons then they're misleading people."
Karnataka chief minister HD Kumaraswamy said that he will conclude his speech on Monday. However, the Speaker, KR Ramesh Kumar, said that he will announce his verdict at 7.30 PM.
Karnataka Speaker KR Ramesh has asked the MLAs to find a solution to the trust vote and conclude it till 7:30 PM. "I will tell my ruling at 7.30 PM," said Karnataka speaker KR Ramesh.
The Congress MLAs have kicked up a storm in the assembly. They are urging the Speaker to adjourn the house. Speaker insists he wants to end the Trust Vote today itself even if it means an extra hour or two.
Karnataka Chief Minister, H D Kumaraswamy has also moved the Supreme Court and challenged the Governor's letter which had asked him to complete the trust vote by 1.30 pm today.

The Governor of Karnataka, Vajubhai Vala, on Friday told chief minister HD Kumaraswamy to ensure that he conducts the floor test by Friday. "I require you to prove your majority and complete and conclude floor test procedure today," said the Governor to the chief minister.

Assembly Speaker KR Ramesh Kumar says, unless the discussion is complete, you cannot press for division of votes for floor test. "Governor's order has to be followed or not, it has to be decided by Chief Minister because the letter was sent to him, so he has to decide", Kumar said.
During a debate in the Speaker Ramesh Kumar: Congress MLA Shrimant Patil wrote letter to Governor saying 'I went to Chennai for personal work and felt chest pain. Visited hospital and on doctor suggestion I came to Mumbai and got admitted here. Hence couldn't attend assembly session, was not kidnapped by BJP'.
HD Kumaraswamy on Friday urged MLAs in the House for discussion over trust vote. He said the issue of the trust vote needs to be discussed and it cannot be completed by 1.30 pm today. "Let everyone speak and discuss first," the Chief Minister said.
