Bengaluru, July 17: Days after Karnataka Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy's emotional breakdown at a party event in Bengaluru, he gave clarification on his statement of "swallowing the pain of the coalition government". Kumaraswamy blamed media for misinterpretation of his speech. He said that he did not speak about the Congress or any Congress leader. The chief minister said, "That was a party program and I got emotional."
Reacting to Kumaraswamy’s statement on Sunday, G Parmeshwara took a dig at the CM. He said, “How can he say that? He must be definitely happy; CM has to be always happy if he's happy we'll all be happy.” Senior Congress leader and Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) also asked Kumaraswamy to be courageous. Sudhakar said, “You've to face problems. Simply expressing won't give a good message to people who supported secular parties. Kumaraswamy should be courageous to face such circumstances.”
Sudhakar further added, “Congress has given amrut (nectar) and not poison to Kumaraswamy by making him chief minister, despite his party winning just 37 seats. Being a CM, he shouldn't be crying, instead, he should be wiping the tears of the common people.” He also ensured that the Congress would give all the cooperation to Kumaraswamy to run the government.
During a party event in Bengaluru on July 14, Kumaraswamy broke into tears at a party event. He also expressed unhappiness at the present situation in the state. Launching a veiled attack on the coalition partner, Congress, Kumaraswamy said that only he knew the pain of the coalition. Janta Dal (Secular) and the Congress forged a post-election alliance to form the government in Karnataka.
