Bengaluru, August 18: Three weeks after gaining control over the Karnakata Assembly and swearing-in as Chief Minister, BS Yediyurappa on Sunday informed that the state Cabinet would be expanded on August 20. Along with this, he also mentioned that there would be no legislative party meeting for now and would only be done after three-after days.

Confirming the reports of Cabinet expansion, Yediyurappa stated, as quoted by news agency ANI, "Cabinet expansion will be done on August 20, there will be no BJP legislative party meeting, it will be after 3-4 days." It is to be known that Yediyurappa took the oath alone on July 25, after BJP proved their majority in the Vidhan Soudha in Bengaluru. Earlier, Congress and Janata Dal-Secular attacked the latest formed BJP government for delay in Cabinet expansion. Congress on Saturday tweeted, "Is this what the BJP means by 'minimum government'? A cabinet without cabinet ministers? Will @BSYBJP wake up and stop our state from being mocked across the country? Karnataka needs a government. If @BSYBJP can't form one, he should step down."

According to initial details, though there would be a Cabinet expansion, speculations are ripe that all positions are expected to be filled on Tuesday. It is expected that some posts may be given to rebel Congress-JDS MLAs as a reward for supporting BJP.
