Karnataka Assembly Elections 2023: Full List of Congress Candidates and Their Constituencies
The 2018 Assembly election in Karnataka saw a three-way battle between BJP, Congress and Janata Dal (Secular). Ahead of the assembly election, the grand old party announced 223 candidates for the 224-member Karnataka Assembly election in a total of six lists. The Congress party has left one seat for Sarvodaya Karnataka Party, a regional outfit.
Mumbai, April 24: With less than 16 days to go, the stage is all set for the Karnataka Assembly Elections 2023. The Election Commission (EC) on March 29 announced the schedule for the Vidhan Sabha polls to the Legislative Assembly in Karnataka. As per the announcement made by EC, polling for the 224 seats for Karnataka Assembly elections will be held in a single phase on May 10.
While announcing the election dates, Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar said that out of the 224 assembly constituencies, 36 seats have been reserved for SCs and 15 for STs. Soon after the election dates were announced, the ruling party Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Congress launched spirited campaigns for the assembly elections. The counting of votes and the election results will be declared on May 13. The term of the 224-member Karnataka Assembly will end on May 24. It must be noted that there are a total of 224 seats in the Karnataka Assembly and a party will require to win more than 113 seats in order to form government in the state as the majority mark is 113.
