Karnataka Assembly Elections 2018: Andhra Pradesh Deputy CM K. E. Krishnamurthy Urges Telugu Voters to Not Vote For BJP

Chennai, April 10: Andhra Pradesh Deputy CM K. E. Krishnamurthy on Tuesday took a jibe at Prime Minister Narendra Modi stating that the Prime Minister cheated them. Krishnamurthy further urged the Telugu speaking population in Karnataka that they shouldn't vote for Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) during upcoming polls in the state next month. “Telugu people should remember how PM Modi cheated them”, the minister said.
Polling in Karnataka will be held May 12 for the 224 seats across the southern state. The counting of votes will be counted on May 15. The BJP on Sunday announced the first list of 72 candidates who will contest the high stakes Karnataka assembly polls. The high-level meeting was chaired by party president Amit Shah, and the attendees included Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Rajnath Singh, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj, former Karnataka chief minister B S Yeddyurappa, among others.
"The central election committee of the party has decided the first 72 names for the ensuing Karnataka legislative Assembly elections," said the BJP in a statement released by its state unit.
Karnataka BJP President and the party's CM candidate BS Yeddyurappa will contest from Shikaripura while B Sriramulu, the party MP from Ballari district will contest the Assembly polls and will be the party's candidate from Molakalmuru in Chitradurga district.
The BJP and Congress is leaving no stone unturned to woo voters in Karnataka. Leaders of both the parties including PM Modi, Congress chief Rahul Gandhi and BJP's Amit Shah have visited the state multiple times over the past few months. The JD(S), led by former prime minister H D Deve Gowda, is the third player in the fray.
