Karmala Vidhan Sabha Constituency Election Result 2019 in Maharashtra: Independent Candidate Sanjaymama Vitthalrao Shinde Wins MLA Seat in Assembly Polls

In 2014, the assembly segment was wrested between Shiv Sena leader Patil Narayan Govindrao and National Congress Party (NCP) leader Bagal Rashmee Digambar. As per the results declared by the Election Commission, the seat was won by Shiv Sena leader Patil Narayan Govindrao by a margin of 257 votes.

Mumbai, October 9: Sanjaymama Vitthalrao Shinde Independent candidate has won the Karmala Vidhan Sabha in Maharashtra Assembly Elections 2019. Shinde defeated Bagal Rashmi Digambar of the Shiv Sena party.

The seat is located in Solapur district of the state, which falls in Pune Division‌‌‌. The assembly segment primarily features an electoral contest between the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-Shiv Sena alliance and the Congress-Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) combine. From the Karmala seat, the Maharashtra Bahujan Vanchit Agadi had fielded Mane Ramkrishna Babasaheb. The Opposition candidate from the constituency was Shiv Sena's Bagal Rashmi Digambar. In the upcoming polls, the BJP-Sena coalition is being predicted to hold the edge. The sum of major opinion polls have claimed a return of the incumbent ruling alliance in the forthcoming polls. Along with Maharashtra, the state of Haryana -- where 90 assembly seats are being contested -- will also go to polls on October 21. In both the states, the BJP is the incumbent ruling party. If re-elected to power, Devendra Fadnavis and Manohar Lal Khattar are likely to continue as the Chief Ministers of Maharashtra and Haryana, respectively.
