Ratlam, May 13: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamaal Nath of Monday lambasted Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Bharatiya Janata Party for accusing them spreading 'lies' about former prime ministers Indira Gandhi and Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. He reminded him of their contributions and said that during Congress rule, Modi was learning to wear pant and pyjamas.

Addressing an electoral rally in Ratlam, Nath said, "5 saal ka jawaab nahi de sakte, kya baat karte hain? Desh ki suraksha ki baat karenge.... Modi ji jab aapne pant-pyjama pehen'na nahi seekha tha tab Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru ne aur Indira Gandhi ji ne humare desh ki fauj banayi thi (Can't give answers to his 5-year rule, what do you speak about? You speak about national security...Modi ji when you haven't learnt how to wear pant and pyjamas, Indira Gandhi and Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru ji made the country security force)." Mayawati, Narendra Modi's War of Words Escalates, BSP Chief Says 'PM Being Abused as He Deserves It'

The comment by Kamal Nath was a reaction to PM Modi and BJP's claims that their government had strengthened the Indian Armed forces. Earlier, in several political rallies for Lok Sabha Elections 2019, PM Modi and Amit Shah had accused Congress of trying to weaken the Armed forces and corruption in defence deals.
