Kaliabor Lok Sabha Constituency in Assam Results 2019: Congress Candidate Gaurav Gogoi Elected MP

Lok Sabha Elections: The results of Kaliabor Lok Sabha Constituency has been declared. Congress candidate Gaurav Gogoi won and is elected as the Member of Parliament (MP) in the Kaliabor constituency, bagging 2,07,002 votes, while Moni Madhab Mahanta from AGP trails in this year's general elections. The counting of votes on the Parliamentary seat in Assam began at 8:00 am on Thursday, May 23. Voting took place for the Kaliabor seat in the first phase of Lok Sabha Elections 2019.

Kaliabor, is a politically prominent constituency of Assam. It is a subdivision of Nagaon district. The number of assembly constituencies in Kaliabor is 10 and the Dergaon segment of these ten constituencies, is reserved for candidates belonging to the scheduled caste candidates. The Election Commission of India (ECI) has announced the Lok Sabha 2019 schedule, as per which, polling in Kaliabor will take place phase one, on April 11, 2019, at various centres. Jorhat Lok Sabha Constituency in Assam. 

In Kaliabor, the key candidates for the General Elections 2019 are Gaurav Gogoi (INC), Sri Bhaskar Sarmah (Independent) and Md. Hariqul Islam Bhuyan (Asom Jana Morcha). According to ECI, the last date for filling nominations was March 25, 2019. The scrutiny of nominations for the General Elections 2019 was scheduled on March 26, and the last date for withdrawal of candidature was March 28, 2019. Lok Sabha Elections 2019 Schedule.

The 2014 Lok Sabha Elections in Kaliabor was won by the Indian National Congress (INC) member, Shri Gourav Gogoi with 4,43,315 votes. The runner up for the previous General Elections was Mrinal Kumar Saikia, member of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) who achieved 3,49,441 votes. Meanwhile, Shri Gourav Gogoi is the current sitting member of parliament of the Kaliabor constituency.

This year, Lok Sabha Elections will be conducted from April 11 to May 23. The voting for 2019 General Elections will take place in seven phases between April 11 to May 19, 2019. The final counting and declaration of the result is scheduled on May 23, 2019.
