Bhopal, February 23: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya on Saturday stirred another controversy by calling Congress legislature Arif Masood a "beef- eater". Addressing a BJP workers’ convention in Bhopal, Vijayvargiya said that he was surprised how a beef-eater won against the candidate of a nationalist government. Referring to party workers, the former BJP MLA further added, “It's a matter of shame for all of us.” BJP Leader Kailash Vijayvargiya Makes Derogatory Remark on Rahul Gandhi, Congress Suggests Him a Mental Check-up.

In the recently concluded assembly election in Madhya Pradesh, Masood defeated BJP’s Surendra Nath Singh from the Bhopal (Central) assembly seat by a margin of close to 15,000 votes. During the gathering, Vijayvargiya also took a dig at the Congress government in the state. He stated that he was clueless about who the chief minister of the state really was.

Kailash Vijayvargiya addressing a BJP worker's gathering in Bhopal:

Meanwhile, Masood hits back at the BJP national secretary. He said that Vijayvargiya should produce evidence as to when I ate beef, and he had never eaten a meal with him. Masood also claimed that he had never eaten beef. It is not the first time, Vijayvargiya has stirred controversy. Last month, the BJP general secretary taking a dig at newly appointed Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi had said that the grand old party was fielding "chocolaty" faces in Lok Sabha polls it had a shortage of strong leaders.

Last Year, Vijayvargiya made a controversial and derogatory remark by calling Congress president Rahul Gandhi a "son of a foreigner" and can never be "patriotic". The BJP leader was responsible for handling the party’s election campaign in a part of Madhya Pradesh, but lost to Congress.
