Bhopal, November 30: Amid reports of infighting between Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamal Nath and Congress leader Jyotiraditya Scindia, both the leader attended a wedding of Congress MLA Banwari Lal Sharma's granddaughter. Scindia shared the image of the wedding on his Facebook page. In the post he wrote, “Along with CM Kamal Nath, I attended the wedding of granddaughter of Banwari Lal Sharma and gave blessings to bride and groom.” Sharma is an MLA from Morena's Jaura assembly constituency. Other party leaders were also attended the wedding.

Earlier this month, after Scindia removed references to his association with the Congress from his Twitter bio, reports started to surface that he might leave Congress. However, he clarified that he was not leaving Congress. His bio now reads, “Public servant. Cricket enthusiast." Scindia had told news agency ANI, “A month back I had changed my bio on Twitter. On people's advice, I had made my bio shorter. Rumours regarding this are baseless.”

The former union minister is considered to be a close confidant of Rahul Gandhi. However, he is often criticised for going against the party line. Scindia also voiced his support towards the Modi government's decision to revoke special status to Jammu and Kashmir under Article 370. Madhya Pradesh Congress Feud: Digvijaya Singh Breaks Silence, Urges Kamal Nath And Sonia Gandhi to Maintain Discipline.

On many occasions, Scindia had made statements conveying that everything was not right between him and the Congress party. Scindia put his own party's Kamal Nath government of Madhya Pradesh in the dock on the issues of loan waiver, survey for flood relief and power cuts. After the assembly election in the state in December 2018, the then Congress Chief Rahul Gandhi, chose Kamal Nath to lead the state. Since then, Scindia has been at loggerheads with Nath.
