New Delhi, Jan 16: After the Supreme Court said the petitioners have the right to seek all documents related to the death of Justice B H Loya, the Maharashtra government decided to submit all the files related to the case in a sealed cover.

"It is a matter where they (petitioners) should know everything," the court had remarked.
The petition before the SC says the death of Justice Loya raises "suspicion", and demands a court-monitored probe.
The hearing has been adjourned by the SC bench till next week, providing petitioners with the time required to study the documents shared by the Maharashtra government.
The petition in Justice Loya death was among the issues raised by the four senior Supreme Court judges in the sensational press conference held on Friday.
The judges - Justice Jasti Chelameswar, Kurien Joseph, Ranjan Gogoi and Madan B Lokur - said the PILs related to crucial matters, including the one seeking probe into Justice Loya's death, are being assigned to the bench headed by relatively junior judges.
The controversy related to Justice Loya's death sparked up in November 2017, after the sister of the deceased judge raised suspicion over his death while speaking to The Caravan magazine.
Justice Loya died on December 1, 2014, after he reportedly suffered a heart attack. At the time of his death, he was heading the bench of Special CBI Court which was hearing the Sohrabuddin encounter case.
