JP Nadda, BJP Working President, Carries Out Rally in Support of CAA in Kolkata, Says 'Mamata Banerjee is Doing Vote-Bank Politics'
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) working President Jagat Prakash Nadda on Monday lashed out at West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee for opposing the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA). Referring to Banerjee, the BJP working president further added, “She should see the huge support for the Act and understand that people have rejected vote-bank politics.”
Kolkata, December 23: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) working President Jagat Prakash Nadda on Monday lashed out at West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee for opposing the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA). During a rally in Kolkata, taken out by the BJP in support of the CAA and the National Register of Citizens (NRC), Nadda said, “Huge crowd here shows people are in support of Citizenship Amendment Act. Referring to Banerjee, the BJP working president further added, “She should see the huge support for the Act and understand that people have rejected vote-bank politics.” BJP West Bengal in-charge Kailash Vijayvargiya and state party President Dilip Ghosh were also present in the rally. BJP's Rally in Kolkata:
The march commenced from Hind cinema in central Kolkata and will culminate at Shyambazar. Banerjee has, time and again, opposed the Act and asserted that the CAA and the NRC would not be implemented in the state.
Earlier in the day, the Calcutta High Court on Monday directed the Trinamool Congress government to stop all advertisements that say NRC and CAA would not be implemented in the state. The court passed the order on petitions filed by various individuals. The court also directed the withdrawal of advertisements from websites and other places.
