New Delhi, Sept 16: Continuing its dominance in the student politics of Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), the Left Unity alliance emerged victorious in the JNU Students' Union (JNUSU) elections. All four posts - president, vice president, secretary and joint secretary - have been bagged by the candidates affiliated to the Left.
As per the final results declared by the JNU polling authorities, Sai Balaji has been elected as the President, Sarika Chaudhary as the Vice President, Aejaz Ahmed Rather as the General Secretary and Amutha Jayadeep as the Joint Secretary.

Counting of votes at JNU resumed late on Saturday after being suspended for 14 hours due violence on the campus. A section of ABVP supporters alleged vandalised the School of International Studies, where the counting was underway, as they accused the electoral officers of not informing them before the beginning the counting of votes.
The students' union poll in JNU turned into a battle of prestige between the RSS-backed ABVP and Left-backed students bodies - AISA, SFI and DYFI - who formed a coalition ahead of the polls.
In the voting conducted on Thursday, the highest ever - 67.2 percent polling was recorded, with over 5,000 students casting their mandate.
