Chandigarh, September 30: Dushyant Chautala-led Jannayak Janata Party (JJP) on Sunday released a list of fifteen candidates for the ensuing Haryana assembly elections slated to be held on October 21. The party has fielded Kusum Sherwal from Sadhaura (SC), Rajender Ganeriwala from Sirsa, Bhag Singh from Kalka and Mange Ram from Radaur among others. Haryana has the strength of 90 assembly seats out of which seventeen seats are reserved for Scheduled Castes and none for Scheduled Tribes. Haryana has a poll strength of 1.82 crore registered voters out of which 1.07 lakh are service voters. Interestingly, the Jannayak Janata Party (JJP) had contested the Lok Sabha polls in alliance with Arvind Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) where it had suffered a humiliating defeat being unable to secure even a single seat.
Meanwhile, the polling for the 90-member Haryana Assembly will take place on October 21. The counting of votes and results are scheduled on October 24. In 2014 Assembly Elections, Manohar Lal Khattar-led BJP government won 47 seats while Congress was restricted to just 15 seats.
