Chandigarh, October 3: The Jannayak Janta Party (JJP) on Thursday released the fourth list of candidates for the upcoming assembly elections in Haryana. The fourth list comprises of 30 candidates. The voting in 90-member Haryana Assembly will be held on October 21 while the counting of votes will take place on October 24. On Tuesday, the JJP had released its third list of 42 candidates. On September 29, the JJP had announced 15 candidates. Its first list on September 13, the party had announced seven candidates for the upcoming polls in the state. The JPP is a newly formed party in the state. It was formed in December 2018 after a split in the Indian National Lok Dal (INLD). The party has tried to project the image of a youth-centric party to appeal to the young voters in the state and also the Jat votebank. In Haryana, Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar will be fighting from his present Karnal seat. He filed his nominations on Tuesday from the Karnal assembly seat. In the 2014 Assembly polls, the BJP improved its 2009 tally of four to 47, followed by the INLD with 19 Legislators and the Congress with 15 seats. Two seats went to the Haryana Janhit Congress (HJC), and one each to the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) and the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP). Five Independent candidates were also elected.
