Ranchi, March 24: The Opposition alliance on Sunday finalised the seat-sharing pact for Jharkhand, which goes to polls in the fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh phase of the Lok Sabha elections 2019. Of the 14 parliamentary seats in the state, the Congress will keep the lion's share, fielding its candidates on 7 constituencies.

Of the remaining 7 seats, the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) will contest on 4, the Jharkhand Vikas Morcha (JVM) has been allotted 2, whereas, 1 constituency has been left for the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) -- which is yet to confirm whether it would be part of the grand coalition. BJP Ties-Up With AJSU in Jharkhand, Will Contest 13 Seats And Leave 1 for Regional Ally.

"Talks are still ongoing with RJD, they have not yet agreed. Everyone will support RJD in Palamu," said senior JMM leader and former Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren.

The ruling BJP, meanwhile, had finalised its seat-sharing agreement earlier in the month. The party would contest on 13 constituencies, leaving 1 for its ally - All Jharkhand Students' Union (AJSU).

In the last Lok Sabha elections, the BJP had won 7 seats in the state, whereas, the JMM and JVM had retained 2 each. The remaining constituencies were bagged by independent candidates.
