Ranchi, December 23: The counting of votes for Jharkhand Assembly Elections 2019 will be held today, i.e. December 20. The results will be out by today evening. The five-phase Jharkhand Assembly elections concluded on Friday, December 20. The counting is set to begin at 8 am in all the 24 district headquarters of Jharkhand. The maximum rounds of counting will take place at Chatra with 28 rounds and lowest round at two seats- Chandankyari and Torpa. All eyes will be on the Jamshedpur East seat as Chief Minister Raghubar Das has been winning this seat since 1995. Das is pitted against ex-cabinet colleague Saryu Rai, who turned rebellion after his ticket was put on hold by the party. Several exit polls have predicted the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha-Congress-Rashtriya Janata Dal alliance to form the government in Jharkhan while the BJP is confident of returning to power.

The polling in 81 assembly seats across Jharkhand was held in five phases - November 30, December 7, December 12, December 16 and December 20. According to reports, security has been heightened for the counting of votes. The first result is expected around 1 p.m. on Monday. In the elections tis year, there is a tight fight between the BJP and Congress.
Both BJP and Congress left no stone unturned to woo the voters in Jharkhand. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP President and Union Home Minister Amit Shah addressed nine rallies each across the state. On the other hand, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi addressed five rallies while Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra addressed one rally in Jharkhand.
