Ranchi, December 23: After nine hours of counting of votes for the Jharkhand Assembly polls, trends give a clean cut majority to Hemant Soren-led alliance -- soon to cross half-century, while trends show that Raghubar Das-led Bharatiya Janata Party has crumbled to 22 seats. Among the other players like Babulal Marandi's JVM and Sudesh Mahato's AJSU are leading with three and four seats respectively.

According to the Election Commission of India website, JMM-led alliance with Congress and Rashtriya Janata Day is leading in 49 seats, while the BJP is trailing in 22 seats. Apart from this, AJSU is leading in four seats, while JVM-P is leading in three seats. As per the details, the JMM leaders who are leading with a margin of more than 10,000 include -- Samir Kumar Mohanty (Baharagora), Niral Purty (Majhganon), Dashrath Gagrai (Kharasawan), Mangal Kalindi (Jugsalai), Stephan Marandi (Maheshpur), Nalin Soren (Shikaripara), Jiga Susaran Horo (Sisai), Vikas Kumar Munda (Tamar), Mathura Prasad Mahato (Tundu) and Joba Manjhi (Manoharpur).

Those BJP leaders who are leading with a margin of more than 10,000 include -- Bhanu Pratap Shahi (Bhawanathpur), Ajay Kumar Chaurasiya (Daltonganj), Manish Jaiswal (Hazaribagh), Nilkanth Singh iunda (Khunti), Aparna Sengupta (Nirsa), Kushwaha Shashi Bhushan Mehta (Panki), Anant Kumat Ojha (Rajmahal) and Randhir Kumar Singh (Sarath).

While Congress' Rajendra Prasad Singh (Bermo), Irfan Ansari (Jamtara), Naman Bixal Kongari (Kolebira) and Rameshwar Oraon (Lohardaga) are leading with a margin of more than 10,000 votes. Apart from the main key players, AJSU' Sudesh Kumar Mahato (Silli), RJD's Satyananand Bhokta (Chatra), and JVM(P)- Babulal Marandi (Dhanwar) and Pradeep Yadav (Poreyahat) are leading with a margin of more than 10,000 votes.

The Assembly elections in Jharkhand took place in five phases - from November 30 to December 20. In the previous Assembly polls, BJP had won 37 seats, which had made an alliance with AJSU and formed the government in the state. JMM had earlier won 19 seats, while its alliance Congress had won 7 seats. JVM(P) has won 8 seats, while BSP had secured one seat. However, four individual candidates have won the seats. The majority mark to form the government in the state Assembly is 41.
