Jharkhand Assembly Election Results 2019: BJP's Raghubar Das Trails From Jamshedpur East, JMM's Hemant Soren Gains Edge in Dumka And Barhait Seats
The counting of votes for the Jharkhand Assembly is underway and as per the initial trends incumbent Chief Minister Raghubar Das is trailing from his home constituency -- Jamshedpur East -- against independent candidate Saryu Rai by a margin of 771 votes. On the contrary, JMM's Hemant Soren is leading from both Barhait (8616) and Dumka (3188) seats respectively.
Ranchi, December 23: The counting of votes for the Jharkhand Assembly is underway and as per the initial trends incumbent Chief Minister Raghubar Das is trailing from his home constituency -- Jamshedpur East -- against independent candidate Saryu Rai by a margin of 771 votes. On the contrary, Jharkhand Mukti Morcha's interim president and opposition's face for CM post -- Hemant Soren -- is leading from both Barhait (8616) and Dumka (3188) seats respectively.
According to the trends -- that are under process -- BJP's candidate Raghubar Das is trailing from his home constituency -- Jamshedpur East, by a margin of 771 votes against independent candidate Saryu Rai. The later was part of BJP few years back, but decided to contest alone after a miff with the party hold in the state. In the meanwhile, Das had said that BJP will form the government in state, despite lacking majority in the initial trends against JMM-led alliance. In another update, opposition's face for CM -- JMM's Hemant Soren, is leading from both the seats that he had contested this election. Soren is leading from Dumka against BJP's Lois Marandi by a margin of 3188 votes, while in Bahrait, the JMM is leading by a margin of 9651 votes against BJP's Simon Malto. Among other key leaders leading in their constituencies include AJSU's Sudesh Mahato, who is on the gaining edge with 10400 votes against JMM's Seema Devi.
As per the initial trends, Hemant Soren-led alliance is leading with 42 seats, while the BJP is trailing on 28 seats. The self-claimed kingmakers -- Babulal Marandi's JVM and Sudesh Mahato's AJSU -- are leading with three seats each. In the previous Assembly polls, BJP had won 37 seats, which had made an alliance with AJSU and formed the government in the state. JMM had earlier won 19 seats, while its alliance Congress had won 7 seats. JVM(P) has won 8 seats, while BSP had secured one seat. However, four individual candidates have won the seats. The majority mark to form the government in the state Assembly is 41.
