Jharkhand Assembly Election 2019 Dates: Know Phase-Wise And Constituency-Wise Schedule For Vidhan Sabha Polls

The Election Commission of India (ECI) on Friday announced the dates for the Jharkhand Assembly Elections 2019. The polling for 288-member Jharkhand assembly is slated will take place in five phases on November 30, December 7, 12, 16 and 20.

Ranchi, November 1: The Election Commission of India (ECI) on Friday announced the dates for the Jharkhand Assembly Elections 2019. The polling for 81-member Jharkhand assembly is slated to take place in five phases on November 30, December 7, 12, 16 and 20. The term of the Jharkhand Assembly is ending on January 5, 2020. The EC has taken the decision to conduct Vidhan Sabha polls in five phases due to security reasons as 67 assembly constituencies of the state are affected by left-wing extremism. Phase-Wise Details of Constituencies Going to Polls:

Phase I

The phase I assembly elections in Jharkhand will take place on November 30. A total of 13 constituencies are going for polls. The notification will be issued on November 6. The last date of filing the nomination papers will be November 13, and the scrutiny will take place on November 14. Candidates can withdraw their candidature by November 16. The result will be declared on December 23.

The counting of votes will take place on December 23.

The result will be declared on December 23.

Out of 81 assembly constituencies, nine are reserved for the scheduled castes and 28 for the scheduled tribes. There are 2,26,58,948 general voters in Jharkhand. The EC has set up 29, 464 polling station in the state. The Model Code of Conduct has come into effect immediately after the announcement of the election schedule. Jharkhand: Congress Leaders Not in Support of Projecting JMM Leader Hemant Soren as CM Candidate.

The Congress is contesting the 2019 assembly elections in alliance with Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM). The grand old party has reportedly agreed to play the junior partner to JMM and may settle for 25-30 seats. The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is expected to current the polls with its ally All Jharkhand Students Union (AJSU).

In the 2014 Jharkhand assembly elections, the BJP had won 37 seats, while its ally AJSU bagged five. Congress won seven seats and the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha 19. Eight seats were won by the Jharkhand Vikas Morcha (Prajatantrik). However, six of their legislators joined the BJP in 2015.
