Mumbai, October 13:  Jamner constituency is one of the 288 Vidhan Sabha constituencies of Maharashtra. This constituency is located in the Jalgaon district. Jamner is part of the Raver Lok Sabha constituency along with five other Vidhan Sabha segments, namely Bhusawal, Chopda, Muktainagar and Raver in Jalgaon district and Malkapur in the adjoining Buldhana district. Girish Dattatraya Mahajan from the BJP party won the 2019 General Assembly Election with 1,14,714 votes.

2019 General Assembly polls in the Jamner constituency will take place on October 21. BJP candidate Girish Dattatray Mahajan had also won the 2014 General Assembly Election with 1,03,498 votes.  Mahajan is the Cabinet Minister for Water Resources & Medical education in Devendra Fadnavis ministry.

For the convenience of the voters, polling booths in Maharashtra have been geotagged. The booths located on the second floor have been shifted to the ground floor so that senior citizen and differently-abled voters can reach the booth.

All the election-related procedures are to be completed before Diwali this year. The main parties contesting for the 288 Maharashtra Assembly seats elections are the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Shiv Sena, and the Indian National Congress (INC). In 2014, NDA sweeped the Maharashtra Assembly elections with the Bharatiya Janata Party winning 122 of the 260 seats that it contested for, and the Shiv Sena bagged 63 of the 282 seats it contested for.
