Srinagar, January 2: Days after revoking the ban on SMS services on postpaid mobiles and reconnecting the broadband for 80 hospitals, reports are coming that the Jammu and Kashmir administration had detained Iltija Mufti -- the daughter of former Chief Minister and People Democratic Party president Mehbooba Mufti. The reports claim that she has been put under house arrest, like her mother, in Srinagar.

According to the various sources, the junior Mufti has been denied to meet her mother Mehbooba Mufti -- who is waiting for her release from detention since months. As per the reports, the junior Mufti was detained by the Jammu and Kashmir administration while she was on her way to meet her mother secretly. However, Iltija had claimed that she was going to her grandfather's grave when police detained her. Confirming the arrest of Iltija, senior journalist Rajdeep Sardesai took to Twitter and wrote, "Daughter of @MehboobaMufti Iltija claims she is being detained at her residence in Srinagar. More details and a security agencies version awaited."

Here's his tweet:

However, the administration has not made any confirmation regarding the detention or house arrest of Iltija Mufti. It is to be known that Iltija has been raising her voice against the detention of her mother and had spoken about the conditions of Valley after the abrogation of Article 370.

Earlier, the J&K administration released five former legislators from detention. Even as the five ex-MLAs have been released, the three top political leaders of the state -- former chief ministers Farooq Abdullah, Omar Abdullah and Mehbooba Mufti still remain detained. The five Kashmir political leaders who were released include Ishfaq Jabbar and Ghulam Nabi Bhat, Bashir Mir and Zahoor Mir and Yasir Reshi.
