Voting for the fourth phase of Lok Sabha Elections 2019 has begun at 7 am on Monday. In Jammu and Kashmir, voting is being held in Kulgam district which is part of the Anantnag parliamentary constituency.
Anantnag, April 29: Voting for the fourth phase of Lok Sabha Elections 2019 concluded on Monday. In Jammu and Kashmir, voting was being held in Kulgam district which is part of the Anantnag parliamentary constituency. A total of voter turnout 9.7957 percent was recorded. The voting in Anantnag is taking place in three phases. In the third phase of the Lok Sabha elections, the voting took place in Anantnag district, while in the fifth phase, the polling will take place in Pulwama and Shopian districts on May 6. The Anantnag constituency has 5,27,154 registered general voters and 2,118 service voters. A total of 714 polling booths have been set up across the district. Meanwhile, for today's voting 433 booths were set up. The Anantnag parliamentary seat covers 16 Assembly constituencies including Tral, Pampore and Kulgam among others. JKPDP leader and former J&K chief minister Mehbooba Mufti won this seat in Lok Sabha Elections 2014 by defeating Mirza Mehboob Beg of the JKNPP. She is back in the fray this election, along with Sofi Youssaf of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Ghulam Ahmad Mir of the Congress and Hasnain Masoodi of the National Conference. The voter turnout of 57.35 per cent was recorded in the first round while 45.7 per cent polling took place in the second phase in Jammu and Kashmir.
