Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan faced the heat in Pakistan's Parliament on Tuesday morning as Maryam Nawaz, daughter of jailed former PM Nawaz Sharif, accused Khan of falling into a "trap" while boasting about his government's ability to bring US President Donald Trump onboard the Kashmir issue.

"You Mr Khan (Imran Khan) failed to anticipate what was coming and were either completely oblivious to the preparations that the Indian government was undertaking or were a part of that," she said.

However, Khan returned to give a statement on what Pakistan's government thinks on the scrapping of Article 370 and the bifurcation of the state into two separate Union Territories (UT) namely Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh.

"What happened yesterday has only confirmed my suspicion [about India's unwillingness to talk]. This is not a decision they [the BJP] have taken out of the blue. It was part of their election manifesto all along. It is, in fact, ingrained in their ideology that puts Hindus above all other religions and seeks to establish a state that represses all other religious groups," Khan said in the Parliament, reported Dawn, Pakistan's leading daily.
