Jaipur is one of the 25 Lok Sabha constituencies of Rajasthan. The voting for the parliamentary polls 2019 on this seat will take place in the Fifth phase on May 6. Currently, it comprises eight assembly seats  - Hawa Mahal, Vidhyadhar Nagar, Civil Lines, Kishan Pole, Adarsh Nagar, Malviya Nagar, Sanganer and Bagru. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has fielded Ram Charan Bohra from Jaipur Lok Sabha Constituency, while the Congress has given the ticket to Jyoti Khandelwal. The last date of filing nominations for the seat was April 18. The scrutiny of nomination papers took place on April `20. In 2014 elections also, BJP candidate Ramcharan Bohra had won from Jaipur  Lok Sabha Constituency defeating Congress candidate Mahesh Joshi with a margin of over five lakh votes. In 2009 elections, Joshi had won the seat on the Congress ticket.

The Election Commission of India on March 10 announced the dates for the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. The general elections will take place in seven phases between April 11 and May 19, and the results will be declared on May 23. Along with Lok Sabha Elections, voting will also take place in this phase for Andhra Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim and Odisha Assembly Elections 2019.
