Elaborate seating arrangements have been made at the Indira Gandhi Municipal Stadium, where nearly 30,000 people are expected to attend the 46-year-old's swearing-in ceremony. The early morning rains had, however, dampened the arrangements to some extent.
After taking oath, Jagan would be addressing the gathering and reiterating his promise to implement ‘Navaratnalu’ or the nine key welfare schemes promised by him during the election campaign.
Among key guests at the swearing-in ceremony include Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao and DMK supremo MK Stalin.
Jagan had also extended invitation to the outgoing Andhra CM N Chandrababu Naidu. The latter, however, turned down the invite and instead sent a delegation of leaders at the YSRCP chief's residence to congratulate him.
In the assembly polls, Jagan's party ended up winning 151 out of the 175 seats, whereas, Naidu's TDP was reduced to 23 MLAs. Out of the 25 parliamentary constituencies, the YSRCP won 22 and the TDP retained only 3.
Following the oath-taking event, Jagan, along with Rao, would be taking off in the same plane to attend Prime Minister-elect Narendra Modi's swearing-in ceremony in the national capital.
