New Delhi, December 31: With 2018 ending in just a few hours, people are looking for places to visit in the New Year 2019. However, they are also eager to know the places where Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited in 2018. Be it a political visit or for the national cause, PM Modi’s made 23 international tours which became the headlines of the year.
According to a report published in India Today, PM Modi visited 92 nations (including repeated visits) in his four years and seven months tenure – lagging behind one nation against former PM Manmohan Singh – which cost the exchequer a whopping Rs 2,021 crore. January, 2018:
Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s first foreign trip was to attend the World Economic Forum in Davos in Switzerland on January 23. He is the first Indian Premier to visit Switzerland after former PM HD Deve Gowda visited the place in 1997. The WEF's 48th Annual Meeting took place on January 23-26, 2018 in Davos-Klosters in Switzerland.
February, 2018:
The month of February was busy for PM Modi. Narendra Modi visited Palestine, Jordan, UAE and Oman from February 9 to February 12.
March, 2018:
With Budget Session underway, Prime Minister dedicated this month to the nation and visited the states, instead of indulging in foreign tours.
April, 2018:
PM Modi began his three-day tour to tri-nation – England, Sweden and Germany – from April 16 which continued till April 18. After returning, he visited China on April 27-28.
May, 2018:
For beating the heat – both political and economic – PM chose Nepal in May. He visited the mountain country on May 11-12. After returning from there, Modi flew to Russia on May 21. Later in the month, he made a five-day visit to Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore from May 28.
June, 2018:
Days after returning his tri-nation visit on June 2, the Prime Minister flew to China on June 9. This was his second visit to China within six months.
July, 2018:
PM Modi chose July to be a month for Africa. He visited three African nations in his five-day starting from July 24 with Rwanda and Uganda. Later he moved to South Africa on July 25 to attend the BRICS Summit.
August, 2018:
On the Independence month, PM Modi visited Nepal for BIMSTEC conference in Kathmandu from 28 to 31 August.
September, 2018:
After several visits to foreign nations, the Indian Premier dedicated this month to serve the people of the country.
October, 2018:
Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Japan on October 27 for 13th India-Japan annual summit. He held meetings with his Japanese counterpart and discussed strategic partnerships.
November, 2018:
In the second last month of the year, PM Modi visited three nations – Singapore, Maldives and Argentina. He attended the ASEAN Summit in Singapore on November 15 and participated in the oath-taking ceremony of Maldivian President Ibrahim Mahmood Solih on November 17.
The most important visit of the Premier was of Argentina for G-20 Summit, which took place on November 30 and
December 1 in Buenos Aires.
December, 2018:
Ending the year on a good note, PM Modi dedicated the last month for the nation and inaugurated significant projects for the welfare of the people.
