Bhopal, December 11: The results for Madhya Pradesh Assembly Elections 2018 will be declared today. The counting of votes is underway in Madhya Pradesh as well as four other states that went to polls in November and December. We are bringing you updates on the results for five MP Vidhan Sabha constituencies - Indore 1, Indore 2, Indore 3, Indore 4, Indore 5. Voting for the MP Assembly polls was held on November 28 in a single phase. The exit polls have not been able to predict whether the BJP or the Congress would win the state. There have been mixed prediction for MP Vidhan Sabha polls 2018. MP saw a voter turnout of about 75 percent this election. Stay with us for Live updates on winners of these six MLA seats in MP.
Indore 1 Assembly Seat
The Indore 1 seat has been a BJP stronghold since 2003. Sudarshan Gupta of the BJP has won this seat twice - in 2008 and 2013. Gupta has been fielded by the party this election as well, against Sanjay Shukla of the Congress and Dharamdas Ahirwar of the BSP among other candidates.
Indore 2 Assembly Seat
The Indore 2 seat has been a BJP stronghold since 1993. While Kailash Vijayvargiya won this seat thrice (1993, 1998 and 2003), Ramesh Mendola has won it twice - 2008 and 2013. Mendola has been fielded by the BJP this election too, against Advocate Mohan Singh Sengar of the Congress and Jayesh Sharma of the BSP.
Indore 3 Assembly Seat
The Indore 3 seat has mostly been a Congress stronghold. However, Usha Thakur Didi of the BJP defeated three-time Congress winner Ashwin Joshi in the 2013 elections. This year, the BJP has fielded Kailash Vijayvargiya's son Akash Kailash Vijaywargiya against Congress' Joshi.
Indore 4 Assembly Seat
The Indore 4 seat has been a BJP stronghold since 1990. The previous two elections - 2008 and 2013 - were won by Malini Lakshman Singh Gaur of the BJP. Gaur has been fielded by the party this election too, against Surjeet Singh Chadda of the Congress and Rinku Garg of the BSP.
Indore 5 Assembly Seat
The Indore 5 seat has been with the BJP since 2003 with its 3-time MLA Mahendra Hardia. Hardia has been fielded by the BJP this election as well, against Congress' 1998 poll winner Satyanarayan Patel and Dongar Singh Goyal of the BSP among other candidates.
