New Delhi, June 26: Congress President Rahul Gandhi has taken a jibe at Prime Minister Narendra Modi as India has been ranked as the most unsafe country for women in a survey conducted by 550 Thomson Reuters Foundation experts. Gandhi in his tweet slammed PM Modi for his videos in which he was performing yoga.
The Congress President took to Twitter to criticise the Prime Minister. Gandhi tweeted, “While our PM tiptoes around his garden making Yoga videos, India leads Afghanistan, Syria & Saudi Arabia in rape & violence against women. What a shame for our country!”
According to the poll of global experts, India is the world's most unsafe country for women. War-torn Afghanistan and Syria are placed at second and third spot respectively in the survey, followed by Somalia and Saudi Arabia. The United States is the only western country in the top 10 most dangerous countries for women. with placed at 10th spot.
India was the fourth most dangerous country for women in the same survey seven years ago. India witnessed an increase of 83 percent in cases of crime against women between 2007 and 2016.
