In Poll-Bound Karnataka, Amit Shah Attacks Rahul Gandhi for Meeting 'Scamster' Lalu Yadav at AIIMS
Shah also ridiculed Congress party stand against corruption and rather questioned Gandhi for meeting the scamster, Lalu Prasad Yadav.
Kolar, April 30: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Amit Shah attacked Rahul Gandhi for meeting fodder scam convict and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad Yadav at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) on Monday.
Shah during his election campaign rally in Kolar said, “During UPA rule, Rahul Gandhi had torn the ordinance which could save now fodder scam convict Lalu Yadav. As 2019 is approaching, it seems Congress can’t win without Lalu's support, and today he (Rahul Gandhi) met Lalu (in AIIMS)."
Shah also raised questions on Congress party's stand against corruption and demanded for meeting the "scamster" Lalu.
To recall, RJD chief Lalu was admitted to AIIMS for ill health on March 29. However, he was discharged on Monday morning which triggered a row. Meanwhile, Lalu claimed his discharge is a political conspiracy.
"It's unjust, and a conspiracy to deteriorate my health. I am being shifted to a place where there are no facilities. It is a tough time, but I will face it," the ANI tweets.
Earlier, Lalu also wrote a letter claiming that his health has not improved and therefore, he should not be shifted to the Ranchi hospital. He referred the Ranchi hospital has no proper facilities to assist him.
While immediately after his release supporters of the RJD leader created a ruckus in the hospital premises. The supporters broke a glass door, abused the security guards and administration officials, hospital sources alleged. The AIIMS administration filed a complaint with Delhi Police alleging miscreants misbehaved with the hospital’s staff, the report stated.
The two parties (BJP and Congress) are giving a tough fight to each other for the upcoming Karnataka assembly elections 2018, which is to be held on May 12 and the results will be announced on May 15. While the third contender in the election race, the JD(S), which is likely to emerge as the kingmaker, has said that it would opt for re-polling instead of joining hands either with the BJP or the Congress in case of a hung Assembly. After reports of JDS signing a secret pact with BJP and meeting Amit Shah was claimed.
