Pulwama, February 14: The silence of Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan over the gruesome terrorist attack on the convoy of CRPF personnel in Pulwama's Awantipora area on Thursday betrays all the tall claims that he had made after being elected as the Prime Minister of Pakistan in August 2018. Until the report was published, there was no information of the Pakistani premier either on condemning the coward Fidayeen attack by Jaish-e-Mohammad or any call made to his Indian counterpart Prime Minister Narendra Modi. It only goes to show how hollow his promise of 'Naya Pakistan' and peace with India was when he made those tall claims.
Earlier, on the eve of taking oath as the prime minister of Pakistan, Khan had said that he wants peace in the South Asian region and would work towards neutralising the terrorists outfits. However, by maintaining a silence on the recent terror attack, depicts that he is not serious about his promise to maintain good relations with India. Considering the point, the Union Ministry of External affairs has appealed to the member of the United Nations Security Council to impose a ban on terror outfits, including JeM, operating from Pakistani lands, there are high chances that Pakistan might again deny the presence of any such outfits.
With the gruesome incident taken place, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has called for a Union Cabinet Committee on Security to meet at 9:15 am tomorrow and would discuss on the future course of action. Also, the Union Minister of Home Affairs Rajnath Singh has cancelled all his scheduled meeting and will depart for Srinagar to take stock of the situation.
