‘If Your Are Driving Safely, BJP Will Come and Collide to Make It Look Like Accident,’ Says Congress MP Shashi Tharoor
Congress senior leader Shashi Tharoor on Thursday stood by his 'chaiwala' remark he made during Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru's birth anniversary on November 14.
Thiruvananthapuram, November 15: Congress senior leader Shashi Tharoor on Thursday stood by his 'chaiwala' remark he made during Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru's birth anniversary on November 14. While speaking to ANI, Tharoor said Prime Minister Narendra Modi has always used his humble background, and I did the similar thing. BJP's condition today is that if you drive safely in the road where they will intentionally collide you and make it look like an accident.
"PM Modi has always talked of his humble background, and I did the same. BJP is today in a condition that even if you drive safely on the road, they will come and purposely collide with you to make it look like an accident," Tharoor said on his 'Chaiwala' remark. On November 14, Tharoor used his weaponry of words and said, "If today we have a 'chaiwala' as Prime Minister, it's because Nehru Ji made it possible to create the institutional structures through which any Indian can aspire to rise to the highest office in the land, " during a relaunch of his book, 'Nehru: The Invention of India'. Sonia Gandhi who was also present at the event urged people for preserving the ideals of the Country.
