The 2019 general election is believed to be one of the most closely contested general elections in the country’s parliamentary history. The elections this year were widely spread in seven phases for a span of 39 days. Voting to elect the 17th Lok Sabha started on April 11 and concluded on May 19, with counting of votes is scheduled for today, May 23, ten days before the term of the current House expires. The counting of the votes will begin early morning on Thursday. There are a number of ways where people can check the Lok Sabha Election 2019 results online on laptops and mobile phones. Here's How To Check Election Results 2019 On Mobile, TV News Channels And Official EC Website. 

The ECI will start showing the results online once counting begins at 8 AM. The poll panel, on its website said that the General Election 2019 will be disseminated through the portal results.eci.gov.in on 23rd May, 2019 starting from 08:00 AM onwards. Users can check the live results online on Voter Helpline App and on eci.gov.in and suvidha.eci.gov.in. The Voter Helpline App will allow users to easily find the information they are looking for. Citizens can browse the app based on their own interests and check the live trends anytime.

On The Voter Helpline App:

The EC launched several apps for people, candidate and political parties for smooth conduct of elections. One such app that will give live trends of counting of votes is the 'Voter Helpline Mobile app' by the EC. The app can be downloaded via Google Play Store. The Android-based mobile App can be installed and used on android version Jellybean and above. Android users can download the app by clicking here, while, iPhone users can download it from here.

On the Election Commission of India website- eci.gov.in

  1. To check the Lok Sabha Elections 2019 results online, people will have to visit the official website of the ECI- eci.gov.in
  2. On the website, click on the main menu and select Results and Statistics (on the extreme right side)
  3. Once you click on it, a new window will open showing results of the elections that were previously held.
  4. The EC would start showing trends once counting begins at 8 AM on May 23.

On suvidha.eci.gov.in, Lok Sabha candidate can log in and check if he/she is winning/trailing from their constituencies. Here’s how to check. 

  1. On suvidha.eci.gov.in, click on ‘General Election to the House of People 2019 (All India)’
  2. A new window opens asking for either ‘Candidate Login’ or ‘Officer Login’
  3. A person is required to fill the mobile number, enter the captcha code and apply for permission to check the results online on the portal.

All eyes are on who will become the next Prime Minister of India. If exit polls are to be believed, the Narendra Modi government is coming back to power with full majority. However, it must be noted that the predictions by poll survey agencies in the past have been found not to be close to the actual results. Of the 12 exit polls, 12 predicted the NDA getting a full majority with seats ranging from 282 to 365. The exit polls predicted the Congress-led United Progressive Alliance getting 82 to 165 seats. It must be noted that a party or an alliance needs 271 seats to form the government as the Lok Sabha elections were held on 542 of the 543 seats.
