During 16th Lok Sabha Polls, Haradanahalli Doddegowda Deve Gowda from Janata Dal(Secular),JD(S) defeated Manju A from Indian National Congress (INC) and C. H. Vijayashankar from Bhartiya Janata Party. The JD(S) candidate won this seat by a margin of 1,00,462 votes.

The 17th Lok Sabha election will be held throughout India from April 11, 2019, and it will last till May 19, 2019. The polling will be done in 7 phases. The result for each phase will be declared on May 23, 2019.
